Alexander Students Receive National PTA Awards
Congratulations to two students from this year’s Alexander PTA Reflections Program who received Awards of Merit from National PTA!
On May 1, National PTA announced the winners of the 2023-2024 Reflections Program. Over 200 students from across the country have been recognized with Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit, in addition to seven Outstanding Interpretation Awards. The awards honor creative interpretations of the theme “I am Hopeful Because…” Students were selected for this highest level of Reflections Program recognition from over 900 submissions by a national panel of judges.
Gabi Oliano (Kindergarten) received an Award of Merit in Visual Arts for her entry, “Spread Kindness,” and Lila Yacovino (5th grade) received an Award of Merit in Visual Arts for her entry, “From the Ashes.”
Their Awards of Merit represent two of the four National PTA awards given to New Jersey students this year. They will each receive a bronze medallion and certificate from National PTA this summer, and they will also be honored as part of a National PTA virtual exhibition in January 2025.
Lila and Gabi are the first students in Alexander's recent history to receive National-level accolades for their Reflections Program entries. We could not be more thrilled for and proud of Lila and Gabi and their accomplishments this year!
